How in the heck are you supposed to wear a sweater cape?!?
I was SUPER excited to get one (seriously, it's a cape!) when my mom found it on sale at Nordstrom. But since then, it's stayed stuck in my closet.... because, what in the world am I supposed to wear it with?
So, my goal this week was to find at least 4 outfits that would pair nicely with this new addition to my wardrobe. And now, I can wear it every season of the year.
Spring: My fashion goal is to never be too "matchy-matchy." Instead, I like to make sure all the items I'm wearing compliment each other. Nothing in the above photo matches (pink earrings, navy cape, purple dress, gray shoes) but they're all neutral enough that when thrown together, it works. The trick is to just try pairing different colors together.

Summer: A cape is a nice substitution for cardigans on cool summer nights. They can wrap around you like a blanket, but still leave freedom for your arms to get things done (pretty much the best of both worlds.) The above outfits is basically my uniform in the summer, so it's nice to have a unique sweater alternative to switch things up.

Autumn: A cape is also nice to wear in autumn, when the weather's cooled down - but you're not yet ready to pull out your wool coat. Here, I paired it with a really casual outfit (also one of my go-to looks.) Ever since I saw a picture of Jennifer Aniston with her jeans rolled up, I've been doing the same. Combat boots provide a nice contrast to the femininity of skinny jeans.

Winter: I'm not afraid of wearing navy, black and brown together. In fact, I think they give subtle interest to an outfit. I paired the cape with leggings because it's so wide on top. Skinny jeans or leggings on bottom help to balance everything out.
Goal = accomplished. I love finding new ways to wear my favorite clothes. :)
